After not running all week, I finally got a run in today. I drove down to Draper to meet up with Craig and Scott to run the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. We started at 6 a.m. with our headlamps leading the way. Scott didn't have a headlamp, so he ran in between us. The first part of the trail had been well traveled and heated by the Sun, so it was a bit icy. About two miles into the run I tweaked my knee a bit and had to slow down. By mile three my knee had recovered and I was going strong again. We ran up the dirt road to Corner Canyon. Towards the top, there were very few tracks. The snow had a thin crust on it that broke through with each step making it difficult to run. From there we ran down Ghost Falls trail. This trail was great and I really enjoyed running it in the snow. It met back up with the Bonneville Shoreline trail and we headed back the way we had come. At one point Craig was a bit ahead of Scott and I and he took a turn that we didn't notice. The next then we knew we were running on a lower road and he was along side us up on the hill. I picked a spot that I thought would be good to run up to meet back up with him, but it was steep and not the best choice. We caught up with him again and stayed on the right trails for the rest of the run. The run felt good today and I really liked running on news trails that I hadn't been on before.
