Today I ran on the Sessions Mountain Trail. This trail is a brutal uphill grind. My first mile split was 21:14. I was trying to run it, but there are some steep sections. The only relief on the trail is section that are still uphill, but note quite as steep. My second mile split was 20:20. Awesome, it was faster than mile 1. After running the grueling uphill for 45 minutes I stopped and headed back down the way I came. The trail continued on up but I didn't have time to go higher. I had climbed 2072 in just 2.25 miles. Nearly 1000 feet per mile. The downhill was great, although I couldn't go as fast as I would've liked to because of the steep sections.

Holy Hannah Montana! That's 17.4%!! That's not a trail. That's a sheer cliff!

Sounds like a fun challenge. I think you killed it considering how steep it was.
