Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I am in Idaho Falls today at my in laws. I decided to warm up by running to the start of the race. I thought the park was 2 miles away, but it was actually three. When I left the house it was 12.4°F (-10.8°C). After a half mile I was warmed up and the cold didn't bother me the rest of the day. There was a big turn out for this race. They also had a 5k and a 1 mile event that started the same time we did. Most of the course was on a 4 ft wide paved trail. There was a snow storm earlier this week, so part of the trail had snow on it and part of the trail was slick ice. I started out slow and gradually picked up the pace. At 1.5 miles the 5k runners turned around, which made the path even more crowded. After that it was great. We ran right passed the Idaho Falls Temple, which is where I was married. The course made a loop around the green belt then headed back to the park. At the park I could hear the finish, but still had to do a 1.5 mile loop around the park. I tried to go sub 7 for the last mile, but couldn't get there. I finished at 49:28. Not a fast time for me by any means but I'm happy with it. I won a pack of hand warmers from the raffle prizes. After cooling down a bit I ran back to the house. Running 12 miles this morning really worked up an appetite, I think I could eat a whole turkey. Have a great day everyone.

Great job, glad you had a good time! Sorry I wasn't there to meet you I just didn't feel like racing yesterday.

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Let me know the next time you are in town and we can try to hook up for a run!

That sounds like a great day. Hope you rewarded yourself with lots of bad food.
