I ran on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail to Ricks Creek. On the north side of the creek, I found a new trail heading up the mountain. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to check it out. I am running a marathon of Saturday so I am trying to keep things easy this week. It's hard to do when I love to run up unknown mountains trails just to see where they go.

I love unknown trails too! Be careful about looking for rattlers though! What marathon this weeK?

The Mesa Falls Marathon in Island Park, Idaho. It's one of the most scenic marathons.

Is it a trail run marathon with lots of elevation or a road marathon?

From Twinkies on Thu, Aug 25, 2011 at 21:00:28 from 67.164.194.215

It's a little of both. The first ten miles are on gravel roads, the three miles on paved roads. After that is goes downhill for three miles on a gravel rail trail. The rest on on roads into Ashton, Idaho. There is a large hill at mile 18 that is about 3/4 mile long, but other than that, it is an easy course.

Have fun in Ashton. I was thinking about doing the half - looks like a beautiful course!

Good luck with your race Twinkies. That sounds like a fun race.

Thanks for the support gang. I just got to my parents house in Idaho.

Lulu - If you decide to run this next year, do the full. The half runs the second half, and the less scenic half, of the course.
