Ran the I-Drive 5K run today in Orlando, FL with my wife and my brother. We are on vacation here and decided to run a race.

This was my wifes first race. She only started running about four months ago. I ran with her the whole race and gave her support and encouragement along the way. The race had over 1000 runners. It was the biggest 5k I have ever ran.

Susie did awesome. She was shooting for 10 minute miles. The first mile was right at 10:00, and the second mile was right at 10:00. After that she was still feeling great so we picked up the pace and set a goal to come in under 30. When we crossed the line, our chip time was 29:58. It was an excellent race for Susie's first. She is going to be in good shape by the time her half marathon comes around.

After the race we spent the day at Disney World. It was our last day at Disney World and the last day of our vacation, so we tried to get in anything that we had missed. It's been a fun week.

My brother did good on his race too. He came in ahead of us at a time of 27:26.

Nice job guys. It sounds like you have had a fantastic vacation. Who had the kids while the two of you ran today?

It's a lot of fun to run a race at someone else's pace. Especially when it's with someone you love. I did the same thing with my daughter last Sunday. How was the weather down there? I was in Florida for a couple days last year in May and it was amazing!

I'm not convinced Matt was running at Susie's pace. I think she was running at his pace because he's not fully recovered. But Disney World cures everything. Again I say - lucky!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Jun - My brother's wife watched our kids and his kids. He has 3 and we have 4, so she was watching 7 kids ages 7 and under.

Rattletrap - The weather was great. Sunny 80 - 90's every day.

Burt - Your right, I am still recovering. I glad that I didn't run that race any faster cause I would be hurtin'
